Why “Complete Health Dentistry” ?

Brilliant Smiles was started twenty six years ago with my vision of giving our community a dental office which provided the highest standard of dental care along with top notch customer service. That vision has not changed. But our knowledge of how oral health affects the rest of the body has increased our focus.
In “today’s” dentistry, dental clinicians are encouraged to focus on overall health and wellness. Current research shows direct links between mouth bacteria and serious health

problems like heart disease, stroke, diabetes, headaches, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, jaw pain, pregnancy and bad breath. At Brilliant Smiles our journey, which has included extensive continuing education, has led us to becoming advocates for your overall health and wellness. Our dental work will continue to be the highest of quality and our customer service will remain five star; however, in our practice today you will get a team of excellent clinicians who want to see you live healthier and have a higher quality of life.

Professional Teeth Cleaning

Professional Teeth Cleaning Dayton, OH

Few things about Professional Teeth Cleaning

Regular professional cleanings are very important to your overall health and essential to keeping your teeth healthy and strong. Cleanings can help prevent cavities, tartar build up, gum disease, and even whiten your smile!

There are two types of professional Xenia teeth cleaning that we provide. The first is the standard teeth cleaning, which usually takes about an hour. Our dental hygienist will remove soft plaque and hard tartar. The other type of cleaning is a deep cleaning and is needed in cases where there may be infection or advanced stages of gum disease. This type of cleaning is completed over multiple appointments and removes the disease-causing bacteria deep under the gum line.

Porcelain Veneers Dayton, OH

Few things about Porcelain Veneers

Your smile is one of the first things that people notice about you. Porcelain veneers can fix stained, chipped, or worn teeth. They can even correct spacing issues like crooked or gapped teeth.

Veneers are very thin shells, often created from porcelain, which fit over your teeth to correct cosmetic dental flaws. Your custom made dental veneers will fit your smile comfortably and look natural and radiant. Veneers may be a great way to get the smile you have always wanted.

Porcelain Crowns & Bridges

by Admin on August 8, 2014 , Comments Off

Porcelain Crowns & Bridges

Porcelain Crowns & Bridges Dayton, OH

Few things about Porcelain Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns, also called caps, are a type of tooth restoration designed to repair several different types of problems. A crown helps protect a tooth and restores function, health, and esthetics. Different materials are used for crowns, including porcelain, metal, or a combination of both. Porcelain crowns are the most esthetic option. This type of crown is matched to your other teeth and is virtually indistinguishable. Great care is taken by our dentists to ensure your new crown blends and functions harmoniously with the rest of your teeth.

Bridges

If you’re missing one or more of your teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. Bridges can help restore your smile and regain the function of your teeth.

Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth and literally “bridges” the gap where one or more teeth used to be. Bridges are attached to adjacent teeth or dental implants for support. Unlike a removable partial denture, a fixed bridge cannot be taken out. The success of a bridge depends on the foundation, so it’s very important to keep your remaining teeth healthy and strong.

Invisalign Orthodontics

Invisalign Orthodontics

Invisalign Orthodontics Treatment Dayton, OH

Few things about Invisalign Orthodontics

Invisalign™ is a proprietary method of orthodontic treatment, which uses a series of clear, removable teeth aligners to straighten your teeth. Invisalign™ is an alternative to traditional metal braces. The most obvious advantage of the treatment is cosmetic. The aligners are transparent, making them much more difficult to detect than traditional wire and bracket braces.

This makes the method particularly popular among adults who want to straighten their teeth with the look of traditional braces, which are commonly worn by children and adolescents. Benefits of straighter teeth are not just limited to improving your smile and self-confidence, but also with the more hygienic nature of straighter teeth.

If you are interested in Invisalign™ treatment, contact Brilliant Smiles for a consultation!

Implants

by Admin on August 8, 2014 , Comments Off

Dental Implants

Dental Implants Dayton, OH

Few things about Implants

Leaving a missing tooth space empty may not sound too serious, but the consequences of not filling in the space from the missing tooth can be severe in a number of ways. The adjacent and opposing teeth to the space can change position to fill the gap. Another possible consequence is the jawbone shrinking from the missing tooth, causing the face to look older without the proper bone to support it. A missing tooth can also affect your smile and confidence.

For many people, a dental implant is a great solution to replace missing teeth. A dental implant takes the place of the tooth’s root and helps prevent the above problems. A crown or bridge can then be secured to the dental implant, providing a solution that is both functional and esthetic.

Dental implants can also be used to secure both complete and partial dentures. Implants can eliminate the need for denture adhesives or metal clasps, which might mean a new level of comfort and ease in your life. Implant supported dentures can help restore the function your dentures were intended to have.

Bonding/Composite Fillings

by Admin on August 8, 2014 , Comments Off

Bonding/Composite Fillings

Bonding/Composite Filling Dayton, OH

Few things about Bonding/Composite Fillings

Dental bonding is a dental procedure that can be completed to restore teeth because of cavities, repair chips and small fractures, or to improve the appearance of your teeth. The dentist places a tooth-colored composite resin material, which adheres or “bonds” to your tooth.

The white fillings are matched to the color of your teeth. Composite fillings provide a very esthetic option to repair teeth, while allowing the dentist to be more conservative with the preservation of your tooth structure.
